9085-LEFT SIDE IMPACT SENSOR 1 CONFIGURATION ERROR
Theory of Operation
When powered, the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) compares the vehicle component configuration to the vehicle equipment. The ORC cannot be re-configured and must be replaced if this DTC is active.
- When Monitored:
With the ignition ON.
- Set Condition:
The Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) on board diagnostics compares the vehicle component configuration to the vehicle equipment.
Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding.
Diagnostic Test
1. REPLACE THE ORC
NOTE: Ensure that the battery is fully charged.
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read ORC DTC.
Does the scan tool display active: 9085-LEFT SIDE IMPACT SENSOR 1 CONFIGURATION ERROR?
Repair
WARNING: If the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) is dropped at any time, it must be replaced. Failure to take proper precautions could result in accidental airbag deployment and serious or fatal injury.
WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury, turn the ignition off, disconnect the battery and wait two minutes before proceeding.
- Replace the ORC.
- Perform *RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests
