9032-LEFT SEAT HEATER - OPERATION DISABLED - SBM

- When Monitored:
Ignition on, during the heated seat operation.

- Set Condition:
This code is set when the Switch Bank Module detects an open in the heated seat driver circuit.





Diagnostic Test

1. VERIFY DTC IS ACTIVE
With the scan tool, record and erase DTC's
Operate the Heated Seat Switch several times.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Does the DTC 9032-LEFT SEAT HEATER - OPERATION DISABLED reset?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Verification Tests

2. CHECK FOR AN OPEN SEAT HEATER ELEMENT CIRCUIT
Disconnect the Left Heated Seat 4 - way connector.

NOTE: Check connectors - Clean and repair as necessary.

Check the seat heater element circuit resistance by measuring between the Left Heated Seat Driver and Ground circuits at the Left Heated Seat 4 - way connector (seat side).
Is the heated seat circuit open?

Yes

- Check for an open in the element pigtail harness and repair or replace the heater element as necessary.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Verification Tests

No

- Go To 3

3. CHECK THE LEFT HEATED SEAT GROUND CIRCUIT
Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the Ground circuit at the Left Heated Seat Cushion 2 - way connector (harness side).
Does the test light illuminate brightly?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- Repair the Ground circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Verification Tests

4. CHECK THE LEFT HEATED SEAT DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
Disconnect the Switch Bank Module C1 connector.

NOTE: Check connectors - Clean and repair as necessary.

Measure the Left Heated Seat Driver circuit from the Switch Bank Module C1 connector to the Left Heated Seat 2 - way connector (harness side).
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

Yes

- Replace the Switch Bank Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Verification Tests

No

- Repair the Left Heated Seat Driver circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Verification Tests
