Ignition Control







9010-ELV LOCKING VOLTAGE PRESENT

- When Monitored:
With the ignition switch on.

- Set Condition:
The Electronic Ignition Switch CGW has detected voltage on the Fused Ignition Switch Output circuit to the Steering Column Lock Module with the key in the Ignition Switch.





Diagnostic Test

1. CHECK FOR ACTIVE DTC
Turn the ignition on.
With a scan tool, read, record and erase EIS/CGW DTCs.
Turn the ignition off for 30 seconds, then back on.
Using the scan tool, read EIS/CGW DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The condition that caused this code to set is not present at this time. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests

2. FUSED IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT CIRCUIT SHORTED TO BATTERY VOLTAGE




Turn the ignition off and leave the key in the Ignition Switch.
Disconnect the Steering Column Lock Module harness connector.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, probe the Fused Ignition Switch Output circuit in the Steering Column Lock Module harness connector.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?

Yes

- Repair the Fused Ignition Switch Output circuit for a short to battery voltage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests

No

- Replace the Electronic Ignition Switch.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests
