9004-DRIVER ENTRY/EXIT LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH - DDM

- When Monitored:
Whenever the module is awake.
- Set Condition:
When the DDM senses no current flow through the module internal driver when the driver door is opened, this code will set.
Diagnostic Test
1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, record and erase DTC's.
Open and close the driver door.
Wait 30 seconds.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Does the scan tool display 9004-DRIVER ENTRY/EXIT LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Verification Tests.
2. DRIVER ENTRY/EXIT LAMP
Disconnect the Driver Entry/Exit Lamp connector.
Connect a 12-volt test light between the Driver Entry/Exit Lamp Driver circuit and the Driver Entry/Exit Lamp Ground circuit in connector.
Open the driver door while observing the test light.
Did the test light illuminate brightly when the door was opened?
Yes
- Replace the Driver Entry/Exit Lamp.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Verification Tests.
No
- Go To 3
3. DRIVER ENTRY/EXIT LAMP DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Driver Door Module C1 connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage between ground and the Driver Entrance/Exit Lamp Driver circuit in the DDM C1 connector.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Repair the Driver Entrance/Exit Lamp Driver circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Verification Tests.
No
- Go To 4
4. DRIVER ENTRY/EXIT LAMP DRIVER CIRCUIT OPEN
Measure the resistance of the Driver Entrance/Exit Lamp Driver circuit between the Lamp connector and the DDM C1 connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 ohms?
Yes
- Go To 5
No
- Repair the Driver Entry/Exit Lamp Driver circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
5. DRIVER ENTRY/EXIT LAMP GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
Measure the resistance of the Driver Entrance/Exit Lamp Ground circuit between the Lamp connector and the DDM C1 connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 ohms?
No
- Repair the Driver Entrance/Exit Lamp Ground circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
Yes
- Replace the Driver Door Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
