9004-REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SENSOR CIRCUIT 2 HIGH

- When Monitored:
Whenever the HVAC module is awake.

- Set Condition:
When the Refrigerant Pressure Sensor 2 circuit is shorted to voltage.





Diagnostic Test

1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, record and erase all Cluster DTC's.
Operate the HVAC Control Module by changing the temperature.
Wait 30 seconds.
With the scan tool, read all HVAC DTC's.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Verification Tests

2. REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SENSOR 2 CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the HVAC Control Module harness connectors.
Disconnect the Refrigerant Pressure Sensor 2 harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage of the Refrigerant Pressure Sensor 2 circuit.
Is there any voltage present?

Yes

- Repair the Refrigerant Pressure Sensor 2 circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

No

- Go to 3

3. REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SENSOR 2 CIRCUIT OPEN
Turn the ignition off.
Measure the resistance of the Refrigerant Pressure Sensor 2 circuit between the Refrigerant Pressure 2 sensor harness connector, and the correct HVAC Module harness connector.
Does the ohm meter read open circuit?

Yes

- Repair the Refrigerant Pressure Sensor 2 circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

No

- Go To 4

4. REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SENSOR 2 GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
Turn the ignition off.
Measure the resistance of the Refrigerant Pressure Sensor 2 ground circuit, and ground.
Does the ohm meter read open circuit?

Yes

- Repair the Refrigerant Pressure Sensor 2 circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

No

- Replace the HVAC Control Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.Verification Tests
