8046-DRIVE MOTOR CONTROL - INCORRECT DIRECTION - PSD

For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical

- When Monitored:
Anytime the Power Sliding Door is awake.

- Set Condition:
This code will set when the Power Sliding Door module senses a reversed direction on the drive motor.





Diagnostic Test

1. CHECK FOR DTCS
With the scan tool, record DTC's and any power sliding door inhibitors.
Erase the DTCs.
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
Operate the Power Sliding Door
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

2. DRIVE MOTOR OUTPUT (+) CIRCUIT CROSSED WITH THE DRIVE MOTOR OUTPUT (-) CIRCUIT
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Power Sliding Door Module C1 connector.
Using the schematic, trace the Drive Motor Output circuits (+) and (-) from the PSD Module to the Drive Motor. Drive Motor Output (+) (PSDM C1-4) goes to Drive Unit C7. Drive Motor Output (-) (PSDM C1-5) goes to Drive Unit C9.
Is the wiring correct?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Correct the wiring as necessary.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

3. GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
Disconnect the Drive Unit C11 connector.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check to Ground circuit.

NOTE: The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.

Does the test light illuminate brightly?

Yes

- Repair the Ground circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

No

- Replace the Drive Unit.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
