Event 4900

EVENT 4900-VALVE ON TIME MONITOR

For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical.

- When Monitored:
During the Drive Test.

- Set Condition:
ABM/ESP Control Unit is Overheating.





Diagnostic Test

1. CHECK FOR AN EVENT 4900-VALVE ON TIME MONITOR
NOTE: Allow ABM/ESP Module to cool down before continuing.

NOTE: This DTC must be active for the results of this test to be valid. If any other DTCs are present they must be repaired before continuing.

Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read and record DTCs.
With the scan tool, read and record Freeze Frame information.
Start the engine.
Perform ECU initialization with drive test. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.

NOTE: Apply brakes firmly when performing the drive test.

With the scan tool, read and record DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: EVENT 4900-VALVE ON TIME MONITOR?

Yes

- Replace the Anti-Lock Brake Module.
- Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests.

No

- Refer to the ABS-INTERMITTENT CONDITION TEST.
