D403-CRADLE AUDIO CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.

- Set Condition:
Audio Circuits shorted to ground or open.





Diagnostic Test

1. CHECK FOR ACTIVE DTC
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is the DTC active?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The condition that caused this code to set is not present at this time. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chaffed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals.

2. MICROPHONE OR SPEAKER LINE AT CONTACT PLATE FOR PHONE HOLDER SHORT TO GROUND
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Hands Free Module harness connector.
Disconnect the Cell Phone Holder harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Speaker circuits and Microphone circuits.
Is the resistance on any of the circuits below 10K ohms?

Yes

- Repair the applicable circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

No

- Go To 3

3. MICROPHONE OR SPEAKER LINE AT CONTACT PLATE FOR PHONE HOLDER OPEN
Measure the resistance of the Speaker circuits and Microphone circuits between the Hands Free Module harness connector and the Cell Phone Holder harness connector.
Is the resistance on any of the circuits above 10K ohms?

Yes

- Repair the applicable circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

No

- Replace the Hands Free Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
