B19EB-LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR LATCH CONTROL 2 CIRCUIT LOW - DMLR
For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical
- When Monitored:
Whenever the Left Power Sliding Door is in a latch cinch or release operation
- Set Condition:
When the Left Power Sliding Door Latch motor cinch or release output is pulled low prior to or during a latch cinch or release operation, this code will set.
Diagnostic Test
1. CHECK FOR DTCS
With the scan tool, record DTC's and any power sliding door inhibitors.
Erase the DTCs.
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
Attempt to operate the Left Power Sliding Door
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
2. BINDING POWER SLIDING DOOR
Examine the power sliding door for proper alignment, worn or binding upper and lower rollers, or a loose/damaged weatherstrip.
Examine the power sliding door track assembly for wear or anything that would cause an obstruction to proper operation.
Manually operate the power sliding door on a known good vehicle and notice the effort needed to open and close for comparison.
Especially notice the effort needed to unlatch and latch the power sliding door.
Open the door and manually close the latch. Open and close the latch manually several times and check for any sticking conditions
Were there any mechanical problems found?
Yes
- Refer to Service information for the related procedure(s).
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
No
- Go To 3
3. REAR DOOR MODULE
Turn the ignition off.
Remove the Left Rear Door Trim Panel.
Disconnect the Left Rear Door Module C1 and C2 connectors.
Manually open the sliding door part way.
Connect a jumper wire from the (Z908) Ground circuit to the (Q49) Left Cinch/Release Motor Unlatch Driver circuit in the C1 connector.
NOTE: Be careful not to spread the terminals in the connector.
Observe the rear door latch position.
Momentarily connect a jumper wire between the Fused (B+) circuit and the (Q47) Left Cinch/Release Motor Latch Driver circuit in the C1 connector.
Reverse the polarity of the jumper wires several times and observe the rear latch to see if it changes each time the wires are reversed.
Does the rear latch change from Latched to Unlatched each time the wires are reversed?
Yes
- Replace the Left Rear Door Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
No
- Go To 4
4. CHECK THE (Q47) LEFT CINCH/RELEASE MOTOR LATCH DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
Turn the ignition is off.
Reconnect the Rear Door Module C2 connector.
Measure the resistance between the (Z908) Ground circuit and the (Q47) Left Cinch/Release Motor Latch Driver circuit in the Left Rear Door Module C1 harness connector.
Wiggle the harness and check for an intermittent short circuit condition.
Is the resistance below 10,000.0 ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (Q47) Left Cinch/Release Motor Latch Driver circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
No
- Go To 5
5. CHECK FOR (Q47) LEFT CINCH/RELEASE MOTOR LATCH DRIVER SHORT TO THE (Q49) LEFT CINCH/RELEASE MOTOR UNLATCH DRIVER
Remove the Door Module Assembly.
Disconnect the Left Rear Door Latch C3 harness connector.
Measure the resistance between the (Q47) Left Cinch/Release Motor Latch Driver circuit and the (Q49) Left Cinch/Release Motor Unlatch Driver circuit in the Left Rear Door Module C1 harness connector.
Wiggle the harness and check for an intermittent short circuit condition.
Is the resistance below 10,000.0 ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (Q47) Left Cinch/Release Motor Latch Driver circuit for a short to the (Q49) Left Cinch/Release Motor Unlatch Driver circuit.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
No
- Replace the Left Rear Door Latch Assembly.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
