B19DB-RIGHT POWER SLIDING DOOR CLOSE DIRECTION - PAWL SWITCH PERFORMANCE - RPSDM

- When Monitored:
Whenever the Right Power Sliding Door is performing a power close operation.

- Set Condition:
This code will set when the pawl switch has been detected before the door enters into secondary position during a closing operation.





Diagnostic Test

1. CHECK FOR DTCS
NOTE: If there are any Power Sliding Door DTC's in the Right Door Module, perform those test(s) first before proceeding with this test.

Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, record DTCs.
With the scan tool, erase DTC's
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
If possible, operate the Right power sliding door several times.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool still display this DTC?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

2. CHECK THE RIGHT POWER SLIDING DOOR
Examine the Right Power Sliding Door for proper alignment, worn or binding rollers and hinges, loose/damaged weatherstrip, and track assembly for wear or anything that would cause an obstruction to proper operation.
Manually operate the Right Power Sliding Door on a known good vehicle and notice the effort needed to open and close for comparison.
Especially notice the effort needed to unlatch and close the Right Power Sliding Door.
Open the door and manually close the latch. Open and close the latch manually several times while observing the latch for any sticking conditions
Were there any mechanical problems found?

Yes

- Refer to Service information for the related procedure(s).
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

No

- Go To 3

3. (Q58) RIGHT PAWL SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND




Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Right Rear Door Module C2 connector.
Open the sliding door part way but manually fully close the door latch.
Measure the resistance between body ground and the (Q58) Right Pawl Switch Sense circuit
Is the resistance below 10,000.0 (10k) ohms?

Yes

- Go To 7

No

- Go To 4

4. (Q58) RIGHT PAWL SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT OPEN




Connect an ohmmeter between the (Q58) Right Pawl Switch Sense circuit and the (Q780) Right Power Sliding Door Mux Return circuit in the Module C2 connector.
Ensure the door latch is still in the fully closed position.
While observing the ohmmeter, manually open the door (latch).
Repeat this step several times while observing the ohmmeter.
As the latch changed from closed to open, did the resistance change from "O.L." (open loop) to less than 5.0 ohms each time the latch was opened and closed?

Yes

- Replace the Right Door Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

No

- Go To 5

5. (Q58) RIGHT PAWL SWITCH SENSE WIRE FOR AN OPEN




Remove the Door Module Assembly.
Set the Door Module Assembly on the vehicle floor.
Reconnect the C317 In-line (Wire Track) connector.
Disconnect the Door Latch C1 connector.
Measure the resistance of the (Q58) Right Pawl Switch Sense circuit between the Door Module C2 connector and the Door Latch C1 connector.
Is the resistance below 2.0 ohms?

No

- Repair the (Q58) Right Pawl Switch Sense Return circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

Yes

- Go To 6

6. CHECK THE (Q780) POWER SLIDING DOOR MUX RETURN CIRCUIT




Measure the resistance of the (Q780) Power Sliding Door MUX Return circuit between the Right Rear Power Sliding Door Latch C1 connector and the Door Module C2 connector.
Is the resistance below 2.0 ohms?

Yes

- Replace the Right Rear Power Sliding Door Latch Assembly.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

No

- Repair the (Q780) Right Power Sliding Door Mux Return circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

7. (Q58) RIGHT PAWL SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND




Remove the Door Module Assembly.
Set the Door Module Assembly on the vehicle floor.
Reconnect the C317 In-line (Wire Track) connector.
Disconnect the Door Latch C1 connector.
Measure the resistance between body ground and the (Q58) Right Pawl Switch Sense circuit
Is the resistance below 10,000.0 (10k) ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (Q58) Right Pawl Switch Sense circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

No

- Replace the Right Rear Door Latch Assembly.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
