B19C2-LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR DRIVE OPEN DIRECTION - EXCESSIVE POSITION COUNT
For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical
- When Monitored:
Whenever the Left Power Sliding Door Motor is in operation.
- Set Condition:
This code will set when the Left Power Sliding Door module senses that the Left Power Sliding Door Motor has generated more than 475 pulses during a full power cycle.
Diagnostic Test
1. CHECK FOR DTCS
With the scan tool, record DTC's and any power sliding door inhibitors.
Erase the DTCs.
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
Attempt to operate the Left Power Sliding Door
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
2. CHECK THE LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR
Examine the Left Power Sliding Door for proper alignment, worn or binding rollers and hinges, loose/damaged weatherstrip, and track assembly for wear or anything that would cause an obstruction to proper operation.
Manually operate the Left Power Sliding Door on a known good vehicle and notice the effort needed to open and close for comparison.
Especially notice the effort needed to unlatch, open and close the Left Power Sliding Door.
Were there any mechanical problems found?
Yes
- Refer to Service information for the related procedure(s).
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
No
- Go To 3
3. CHECK THE LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE HARNESS
NOTE: At this time it will be necessary to remove the Power Sliding Door Drive Unit Assembly from the vehicle.
Turn the ignition off.
Remove the Power Sliding Door Drive Unit Assembly from the vehicle.
Disconnect the Power Sliding Door Module connector
Remove the Power Sliding Door Module from the track.
Reconnect the C383 Left Body 4 way harness connector.
Using a 12-volt test light, connect one end to the (A959) Fused B(+) circuit and the other to the (Z908) Ground in the PSD Module 6 way connector.
NOTE: The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.
Does the test tight illuminate brightly?
No
- Repair or replace the Track harness as necessary. If you have to order a new harness, be sure to specify if it is for the Driver or Passenger side of the vehicle. The Driver side has a jumper wire in the PSD Module connector for Driver Side Identification.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
Yes
- Go To 4
4. CHECK THE SLIDING DOOR POSITION SENSOR 1 SIGNAL
Re-connect the PSD Module connector to the module.
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, monitor the Position Sensor 1 state.
Connect a jumper wire to the Door Position Sensor 1 Signal terminal in the PSDM C2 (component side) connection.
Momentarily touch and release the other side of the jumper to the Door Position Sensor Return terminal in the PSDM C2 (component side) connection several times and observe the Position Sensor 1 states on the scan tool.
Does the state of the position sensor change each time the jumper is connected and then released?
Yes
- Go To 5
No
- Replace the Power Sliding Door Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
5. CHECK THE SLIDING DOOR POSITION SENSOR 2 SIGNAL
With the scan tool, monitor the Position Sensor 2 state.
Connect a jumper wire to the Door Position Sensor 2 Signal terminal in the PSDM C2 (component side) connection.
Momentarily touch and release the other side of the jumper to the Door Position Sensor Return terminal in the PSDM C2 (component side) connection several times and observe the Position Sensor 2 states on the scan tool.
Does the state of the position sensor change each time the jumper is connected and then released?
Yes
- Replace the Power Sliding Door Drive Unit.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
No
- Replace the Power Sliding Door Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
