B198E-LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR SENSOR SUPPLY CIRCUIT LOW

For a complete wiring diagram Consult Diagrams/Electrical

- When Monitored:
Whenever the Left Power Sliding Door Motor/Module is awake.

- Set Condition:
The Left Power Sliding Door Module has detected the Left Power Sliding Door Motor Sensor supply circuit voltage is below 1.0 volts.

Diagnostic Test

1. CHECK FOR DTCS
With the scan tool, record DTC's and any power sliding door inhibitors.
Erase the DTCs.
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read the Power Sliding Door Battery Voltage Input.

NOTE: If the Battery Voltage Input is below 12.0 volts, check the Fused B(+) and Ground circuits at the C382 or C383 Body connector and repair as necessary before proceeding.

Attempt to operate the Left Power Sliding Door
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

2. CHECK THE LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR
Examine the Left Power Sliding Door for proper alignment, worn or binding rollers and hinges, loose/damaged weatherstrip, and track assembly for wear or anything that would cause an obstruction to proper operation.
Manually open and close the Power Sliding Door on a known good vehicle and notice the effort needed to open and close.
Compare the effort needed to open and close the door on the disabled vehicle.
Especially notice the effort needed to unlatch and close the Left Power Sliding Door.
Does it take more effort to operate the door than it should?

Yes

- Refer to Service information for the related procedures.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

No

- Go To 3

3. CHECK THE LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR TRACK HARNESS

NOTE: At this time it will be necessary to remove the Power Sliding Door Drive Unit Assembly from the vehicle.

Turn the ignition off.
Remove the Power Sliding Door Drive Unit Assembly from the vehicle.
Set the drive unit on the vehicle floor.
Remove the Power Sliding Door Module from the track.
Disconnect the Power Sliding Door Module connector
Re-connect the C383 Left Body 4 way harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Using a 12-volt test light, connect one end to the (A959) Fused B(+) circuit and the other to the (Z908) Ground in the PSD Module 6-Way connector.

NOTE: The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.

Does the test tight illuminate brightly?

No

- Repair or replace the Track harness as necessary. If you have to order a new harness, be sure to specify if it is for the Driver or Passenger side of the vehicle.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

Yes

- Go To 4

4. CHECK THE DOOR POSITION SENSOR SUPPLY CIRCUIT

Re-connect the PSD Module connector to the module.
Connect a voltmeter between the Door Position Sensor Supply circuit and the Door Position Sensor Return circuit in the PSDM C2 (component side).
Is the voltage between 4.5 and 5.5 volts?

Yes

- Replace the Power Sliding Door Drive Unit.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

No

- Replace the Power Sliding Door Module.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
