B1940-RIGHT POWER SLIDING DOOR SWITCH CIRCUIT HIGH - TIPM

- When Monitored:
Whenever the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) is awake.

- Set Condition:
When the TIPM senses voltage over 5.2 volts on the (G42) Right Sliding Door Pillar Switch circuit for longer than 10 seconds, this code will set.





Diagnostic Test

1. DTC PRESENT
With the scan tool, record DTC's.
Erase DTC's.
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
Operate the Right Power Sliding Door several times from the Right Power Sliding Door B-Pillar switch.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

2. CHECK THE (G42) RIGHT SLIDING DOOR PILLAR SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE




Disconnect the TIPM C7 harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage between ground and the (G42) Right Sliding Door Pillar Switch MUX circuit.
Is there any voltage present?

No

- Go To 3

Yes

- Repair the (G42) Right Sliding Door Pillar Switch MUX circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

3. CHECK THE (G42) RIGHT SLIDING DOOR PILLAR SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN




Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Right Power Sliding Door B-Pillar Switch 4 way harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the (G42) Right Sliding Door Pillar Switch MUX circuit between the Right Power Sliding Door B-Pillar Switch 4 way harness connector and the TIPM C7 harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

No

- Repair the (G42) Right Sliding Door Pillar Switch MUX circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

Yes

- Go To 4

4. CHECK THE (P37) SWITCH RETURN CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN




Measure the resistance of the (P37) Switch Return circuit between the Left Power Sliding Door B-Pillar Switch 4 way harness connector and the TIPM C7 harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

No

- Repair the (P37) Switch Return circuit for an open.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.

Yes

- Replace the TIPM.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Verification Tests.
