Rear HVAC Housing Removal
REMOVAL
WARNING: Review safety precautions and warnings before performing this procedure. Failure to follow the warnings and cautions may result in serious or fatal injury.
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system.
3. Remove the screws that secure the rear A/C covers to the top of the vehicle and remove the covers.
4. Remove the rear roof ducts.
5. Disconnect the two wire harness connectors (1) located on the left side of the rear evaporator housing (2).
6. Remove the two retaining nuts (1) and disconnect the rear A/C liquid line (6) and A/C suction line (7) from the rear expansion valve and remove and discard the O-ring seals.
7. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened refrigerant line fittings and the rear expansion valve ports.
8. Disconnect the two condensate drain hoses (3) from the rear evaporator housing (4).
9. Remove the screws (5) that secure the rear evaporator housing and retaining bracket to the rear roof panel (2).
10. Remove the rear evaporator housing and retaining bracket from the vehicle.
