Rear Interior Suction Line






REAR INTERIOR SUCTION LINE

WARNING: Review safety precautions and warnings before performing this procedure. Failure to follow the warnings and cautions may result in serious or fatal injury.

NOTE: The interior suction line for the rear A/C system is serviced in two sections.




1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Recover the refrigerant from the rear refrigerant system.
3. Remove the rear roof ducts.
4. Remove the left side B-pillar trim panel.
5. Remove the front and center headliner panels.
6. Disconnect the front condensate drain hose (1 and 3) from the rear suction line bracket (9).
7. Remove the nut (10) that secures the rear interior suction line (8) to the rear expansion valve.
8. Disconnect the rear interior suction line from the rear expansion valve and remove and discard the O-ring seal.
9. Remove the bolt (6) that secures the rear interior suction line to the front interior suction line (7).
10. Disconnect the interior suction lines from each other and remove and discard the O-ring seal.
11. Disengage the rear interior suction line from the two retaining brackets (4 and 5).
12. Remove the screws (2) that secure the rear suction line bracket to the roof brace and remove the rear interior suction line from the vehicle.
13. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened interior suction line fittings and the rear expansion valve port.
