Tire Pressure Monitoring






9047-IMPLAUSIBLE SIGNAL RECEIVED FROM HVAC

For a complete wiring diagram Refer to Diagrams/Electrical Electrical Diagrams


- When Monitored:

Ignition on.

- Set Condition:

The TPM Module gets an implausible signal over the CAN B circuit from the HVAC. The circuit is continuously monitored.







Always perform the Engine Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Testing and Inspection



Diagnostic Test


1. ACTIVE DTC

NOTE: Diagnose all CAN B and C communication failures before continuing.

Ignition on, engine not running.

With a scan tool, read DTCs.

Is the DTC active at this time?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Go To 2



2. INTERMITTENT CONDITION

NOTE: Check for any of the follow conditions:
- Poor wire to terminal connection
- Corroded terminals
- Backed out or loose terminals
- Broken wire internal to the insulation
- Dirty (partial) module ground



Were any of the above condition present?

Yes

- Repair as necessary.
- Perform TPM VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests

No

DTC is not active at this time. Test complete.



3. HVAC IS ACTIVE ON THE CAN B BUS

With the scan tool, attempt to communicate with the HVAC.

Is the HVAC active on the bus?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- Refer to Manufacturer Troubles Codes for No Response diagnostic procedures.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test



4. DTCS STORED OR ACTIVE IN THE HVAC

Are any active DTC(s) in the HVAC?

Yes

- Refer to the appropriate information and perform the diagnostics for the DTCs.
- Perform TPM VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests

No

- Go to 5



5. ACTIVE DTCS IN THE ELECTRONIC IGNITION SWITCH/CENTRAL GATEWAY MODULE

With the scan tool, read DTC(s) in the Electronic Ignition Switch/Central Gateway Module.

Are any Communication DTCs active in the Electronic Ignition Switch/Central Gateway Module relating to the HVAC?

Yes

- Refer to Manufacturer Trouble Codes for the diagnostic procedures.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test

No

- Replace and program the TPM Module.
- Perform TPM VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests
