Removal and Installation



Removal

Caution: Do not attempt to check belt tension with a belt tension gauge on vehicles equipped with an automatic belt tensioner.

1. Remove A/C compressor drive belt.
2. Remove Accessory drive belt.






3. Remove pin (2) to relieve the belt tensioner.






4. Remove bolts (4) securing the belt tensioner (5) to the engine block.
5. Remove belt tensioner (5).

Installation

Caution: Do not attempt to check belt tension with a belt tension gauge on vehicles equipped with an automatic belt tensioner.






1. Position belt tensioner (5) to engine block.
2. Install bolts (4) securing the belt tensioner (5) to the engine block. Tighten bolts to 28 Nm ( 21 ft. lbs. ).






3. Install pin (2) to lock the belt tensioner into place.
4. Install accessory drive belt.
5. Install A/C compressor drive belt.
