Front Impact Severity Sensor

Removal

1. WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

1. Front impact severity sensor electrical connector (part of 14K733)
2. Front impact severity sensor (14B004)
3. Front impact severity sensor nut (W714729)







3. WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Ignition must remain OFF until repair is complete. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment.

If installing a new component for a SRS fault, continue to step 4. Otherwise, turn the ignition off, wait at least one minute and continue to step 5.

4. NOTE: The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the correct RCM fuse is removed and the ignition is on.

Depower the SRS.

5. Remove the front impact severity sensor nut, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the front impact severity sensor.

Installation

1. NOTE: Make sure the front impact severity sensor mating surfaces are clean and free of foreign material.

Position the front impact severity sensor, install the nut and connect the electrical connector.
Torque: 9 Nm

2. If the SRS was depowered, repower the SRS.
