Passenger Airbag Deactivation (PAD) Indicator

Removal

1. WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

1. Console LH upper side trim panel (Service Part Number 5804567)
2. Instrument panel lower center finish panel assembly
3. Instrument panel upper center finish panel assembly screws (Service Part Number W714630)
4. Instrument panel upper center finish panel assembly
5. Screw cover (Service Part Number 58044F58)
6. Shifter bezel (part of 58044D90)
7. Hand brake bezel (Service Part Number 5804567)
8. Console LH upper side trim panel screw
9. Instrument panel lower center finish panel assembly screws (Service Part Number W714630)
10. Electrical connectors (part of 14401)
11. PAD indicator (Service Part Number 10A936)







3. WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Ignition must remain OFF until repair is complete. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment.

Turn the ignition off and wait at least one minute.

4. Pull up and remove the shifter bezel.
5. Pull up and separate the hand brake bezel.
6. Remove the screw, pull out and remove the console LH upper side trim panel.
7. Remove the screw cover above the HVAC controls.
8. Remove the 2 instrument panel upper center finish panel assembly screws, pull out at the top and separate the instrument panel upper center finish panel assembly.
9. Remove the 3 instrument panel lower center finish panel assembly screws, disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the instrument panel lower center finish panel assembly.
10. Squeeze the tabs in at the sides and remove the PAD indicator.

Installation

1. Position the PAD indicator into the instrument panel lower center finish panel assembly and engage the tabs.
2. Position the instrument panel lower center finish panel assembly, connect the electrical connectors and install the 3 instrument panel lower center finish panel assembly screws.
3. Position the instrument panel upper center finish panel assembly, push in seating the retaining clips and install the 2 instrument panel upper center finish panel assembly screws.
4. Install the screw cover above the HVAC controls.
5. Position the console LH upper side trim panel and install the screw.
6. Install the hand brake bezel.
7. Install the shifter bezel.
