ISSUE
Some 2012-2013 Focus ST and Titanium vehicles built on or before 4/2/2013 and equipped with Sony(R) 10 speaker sound system with subwoofer may exhibit an extremely loud and distorted buzzing, fluttering or thumping static type sound through all speakers and subwoofer. This condition typically occurs when unlocking or opening a door after the vehicle has been left undisturbed, with the engine off and doors closed for 5 minutes or longer.
ACTION
Reprogram the Digital Signal Processor module to the latest calibration using IDS release 84.01 and higher. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.
WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.
