SYNC USB CONNECTOR LOOSE OR SUNKEN
WITHIN BEZEL TRIM IN FLOOR CONSOLE - BUILT
ON OR BEFORE 11/8/2012

2013 C-MAX

ISSUE
Some 2012-2013 Focus and 2013 C-MAX vehicles built on or before 11/8/2012 and equipped with consolette and SYNC may exhibit a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port connector which is loose or sunken within the bezel trim in the floor console.

ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove the USB port bezel trim by pulling it straight up from floor console.

2. Fully seat the USB connector into the bezel retaining clip.





3. Position a nylon tie strap around connector retaining clip and tighten to firmly secure USB connector in place. (Figure 1)

4. Cut off the excess tie strap.


5. Install the bezel trim into the floor console.

WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.
