- Occupant Classification System (OCS) system on passenger seat

For a detailed list of front seat serviceable parts, refer to Seat - Exploded View, Front .

Driver Memory Seat

When equipped with the memory option, the seat is controlled by the Driver Seat Module (DSM).

The system contains the following serviceable components:

- DSM (Driver Seat Module), mounted to the seat track

- Memory SET switch, located on the driver cushion side shield

- Power seat track

- Power recline motor

- Seat control switch

Heated Seat System

The system contains the following serviceable components:

- Seat heater mats located on the seat cushion and backrest

- Heated seat module, mounted to the bottom of the front passenger seat

- Heated seat buttons, on the Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM)

- Heated seat indicators, located on the heated seat button

- HVAC module

Climate Controlled Seat System

The system contains the following serviceable components:

- Thermo-Electric Device (TED) and blower assembly within each front seat cushion and backrest

- Air filter attached to each TED (Thermo-Electric Device) and blower assembly (for cushion TED (Thermo-Electric Device) filter, turn to the left to remove) (backrest TED (Thermo-Electric Device) filter is not serviceable but can be removed)

- Cushion and backrest foam pads

- Cushion and backrest trim covers

- Climate controlled seat buttons, located on the FCIM (Front Controls Interface Module)

- Dual Climate Controlled Seat Module (DCSM), mounted to the bottom of the front passenger seat

- HVAC module

Power Recliner

The driver and passenger front seats are equipped with a backrest adjuster. The backrest adjustment switch is part of the seat control switch assembly. The recliner assembly is mounted to the seat backrest and cushion frame. The motor and shafts are mounted in the backrest frame.

Power Lumbar With Cushion and Backrest Massage (14-way seat)

NOTE: Allow a few seconds for any switched lumbar or massage selection to activate.

NOTE: Lumbar air bladder deflation is normal before starting backrest massage.

The system contains the following serviceable components:

- Power lumbar with massage assembly attached to each front seat backrest
- includes the lumbar control module, air pump, 3 inflatable air bladders and hoses

- Seat cushion massage assembly attached to each front seat cushion
- includes 4 inflatable air bladders and hoses

- Seat control switch, attached to the cushion side shield

Vehicles equipped with front power lumbar and massage may also be referred to as a multi-contour seat or 14-way seat. The seat control switch commands the system.

Seat Control Switch with Power Lumbar and Massage

- Push button 1:
- forward for cushion massage or rearward for backrest massage

- either way to turn off the massage

- Push button 2:
- up or down to select top, middle or bottom lumbar air bladder

- forward to inflate or rearward to deflate a lumbar air bladder; hold the button until the desired pressure is reached (each bladder must be selected and inflated/deflated individually)

- forward or rearward while the cushion or backrest massage is on and the massage will turn off

- Push button 3:
- in any of 6 positions to adjust the seat track

- Push button 4:
- forward or rearward to adjust the backrest

When massage is selected, 1 bladder at a time inflates and deflates in the backrest or cushion. The backrest and cushion massage cannot operate at the same time. Backrest or cushion massage times out after 20 minutes.

When the backrest massage is turned off, the lumbar control will default to the middle bladder. If unsure which bladder is being controlled, 2 pushes up or down will always select the top or bottom bladder. The lumbar bladders can hold pressure while the cushion massage is on. After turning the backrest massage off, the pressure in each of the lumbar bladders will automatically return to their previous pressures before the massage was turned on, as long as voltage and ground remain at the module. Lumbar pressures will automatically reset after temperature fluctuations or when the vehicle has been turned off for a while.

When the backrest or cushion massage is on and the engine is turned off, the system will turn off and the module will not bleed off pressure in the bladders that are inflated. When the vehicle is turned on again, the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) defaults to off and deflates all bladders that were being used in the previous massage cycle. If the backrest massage was on when the engine was turned off, the pressure in each of the lumbar bladders will automatically return to their previous pressures before the massage was turned on.

When the cushion massage is turned off with the seat control switch, the bladders will deflate. The cushion bladders cannot be selected to hold pressure individually like the backrest bladders.

Refer to the Owner's Literature for additional information.

Seat Side Air Bag

The driver and front passenger seat side air bags are standard equipment attached to the front seat. If a seat side air bag deployment has occurred, or for more information, refer to Restraints and Safety Systems &/or Air Bag Systems.

Safety Belt Buckle Pretensioners

The safety belt buckle pretensioner assemblies are attached to the seat tracks. The safety belt buckle pretensioners remove excess slack from the safety belt webbing when activated by the Restraints Control Module (RCM). For information or if a deployment has occurred, refer to the appropriate procedure in Restraints and Safety Systems &/or Air Bag Systems.

Occupant Classification System (OCS) System

There are 2 types of OCS (Occupant Classification System) systems used on this vehicle:

- OCS (Occupant Classification System) weight sensor bolt system

- OCS (Occupant Classification System) bladder system

The OCS (Occupant Classification System) is standard equipment on all front outboard passenger seats. Seat tracks and cushion wire harnesses are not interchangeable for these 2 systems. For information on diagnosing the OCS (Occupant Classification System) system, refer to Restraints and Safety Systems &/or Air Bag Systems.

OCS (Occupant Classification System) Weight Sensor Bolt System

This system uses pressure sensors at the 4 corners of the seat track and an Occupant Classification System Module (OCSM) attached to the track. The 4 sensors are serviced with the seat track. To install a new OCS (Occupant Classification System) weight sensor bolt system, refer to Seat Track - Front .

OCS (Occupant Classification System) Bladder System

This system uses a gel filled bladder under the cushion foam pad attached to a single pressure sensor under the seat. An OCSM (Occupant Classification System Module) is attached to the track. To install a new OCS (Occupant Classification System) bladder system service kit, refer to Occupant Classification System (OCS) in the Removal and Installation portion of Restraints and Safety Systems &/or Air Bag Systems.

Rear Seats

The rear seats are equipped with the following systems:

- 60/40 split folding backrest

- Fold-down armrest equipped with cup holders

- Backrest release straps, located at the upper outboard sides of each backrest

- Heated seats (if equipped)

For a detailed list of rear seat serviceable parts, refer to Seat - Exploded View, Second Row .

Heated Seats

The system contains the following serviceable components:

- Seat heater mats located on the seat cushion and backrest

- Heated seat module, located in the right rear of the rear seat cushion foam pad.

- the heated seat switches, located on the floor console rear panel.

- Heated seat indicators, located on the heated seat buttons
