Parking Aid
Parking Aid
Parking Aid System
The parking aid system consists of the following:
- Four ultrasonic parking aid sensors (located in the rear bumper cover)
- Parking Aid Module (PAM) (located under the left side parcel shelf)
- Parking aid speaker (located under the left side parcel shelf)
- Parking aid disable feature (integral to the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) message center)
- Parking aid disable feature is not available when a MyKey(TM) is in use
The parking aid system calculates the distance to an object around the rear of the vehicle by the use of 4 ultrasonic sensors. The parking aid system sounds a warning to alert the driver of stationary objects near the rear bumper when REVERSE (R) is selected.
The rear sensors are activated at all times when REVERSE (R) is selected. The parking aid system assists the driver in detecting certain objects while the vehicle moves in reverse at speeds less than 4.8 km/h (3 mph). The parking aid system may not detect moving objects.
Video (If Equipped)
The rear video camera system consists of the following:
- Video camera (located in the rear spoiler (vehicles with rear spoiler))
- Video camera (located in the decklid (vehicles without rear spoiler))
- Auto-dimming interior mirror (without navigation)
- Front Display Interface Module (FDIM) (with navigation)
The video camera is activated when the vehicle is in REVERSE (R). The image from the rear video camera is displayed in the LH side of the auto-dimming interior mirror (without navigation) or the FDIM (Front Display Interface Module) (with navigation). The displayed video image is horizontally inverted and is viewed from the video camera perspective to mimic a conventional mirror image.
