DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
Possible Sources
- SCCM (Steering Column Control Module)
- SOD-L (Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Left)
- SOD-R (Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Right)
PINPOINT TEST O : DTC U0232:87, U0233:87
O1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
Yes
GO to O2.
No
The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to heavy network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
O2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, perform the network test.
Does the SOD-L (Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Left) and SOD-R (Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Right) pass the network test?
Yes
GO to O3.
No
REFER to Information Bus.
O3 RECHECK THE IPM-A (Image Processing Module - A) DTCs
- Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs, wait 10 seconds and perform the IPM-A (Image Processing Module - A) self-test.
Is DTC U0232:87 or U0233:87 still present?
Yes
INSTALL a new SOD-L (Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Left) (U0232:87) or SOD-R (Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Right) (U0233:87).
If DTC U0232:87 or U0233:87 is still present, INSTALL a new interior mirror. REFER to Interior Rear View Mirror .
No
The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to heavy network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
