Disassembly
1. Using the Bearing Puller and a press, remove the countershaft rear bearing.
2. Using the Bearing Puller and a press, remove the countershaft front bearing.
3. Inspect the countershaft.
- Check the shaft surface for wear or damage. Install a new shaft as necessary.
- Check the gear teeth for wear, pitting, scoring, spalling or fractures. Install new components as necessary.
4. Using the Bearing Oil Seal Plate and the Bearing Tube Remover/Installer, install the countershaft rear bearing.
5. Using the Drive Pinion Bearing Cone Installer and the Bearing Tube Remover/Installer, install the countershaft front bearing.
