Carpet









Removal

1. Remove the front seats.

2. Remove the rear seat cushion.

3. Remove the floor console.

4. Remove the quarter trim panels. For additional information, refer to Quarter Trim Panel- Convertible Quarter Trim Panel - Convertible or Quarter Trim Panel- Coupe .

5. Remove the A-pillar lower trim panels. For additional information refer to Interior Trim- Exploded View Interior Trim - Exploded View.

6. Remove the front safety belt anchor bolts.

7. Disconnect the carpet J-channel retainers from the door opening pinch welds.

8. Using a suitable tool, cut the carpet between the Restraints Control Module (RCM) and the Air Conditioning (A/C) plenum chamber.

9. Using a suitable tool, cut the carpet from the Air Conditioning (A/C) plenum chamber opening to the front of the carpet.

10. Pull the carpet from under the RCM (Restraints Control Module) and the A/C (Air Conditioning) plenum chamber.

11. Remove the carpet.

Installation

1. Using a suitable tool, cut the carpet as shown.





2. Using a suitable tool, cut the carpet as shown.





3. Clean the carpet backing on each side of the cut in the area shown with an alcohol swab.





4. Clean the carpet backing on each side of the cut in the area shown with an alcohol swab.





5. Apply a thin coat of trim and weatherstrip adhesive to the four cleaned areas.
- Allow the adhesive to dry for five minutes.


6. Remove the protective covering from one side of a 25 mm (1 in) x 76 mm (3 in) strip of self adhesive Velcro(R) pair and apply a pair to each trim and weatherstrip adhesive coated area.

7. Position the carpet into the vehicle.

8. Remove the protective covering from the, two rear, remaining sides of the 25 mm (1 in) x 76 mm (3 in) strip of self adhesive Velcro(R) pair and carefully insert the carpet under the RCM (Restraints Control Module).

9. Press the Velcro(R) into place.

10. Remove the protective covering from the, two front, remaining sides of the 25 mm (1 in) x 76 mm (3 in) strip of self adhesive Velcro(R) pair and carefully insert the carpet in front of the Air Conditioning (A/C) plenum chamber.

11. Press the Velcro(R) into place.

12. Install the carpet J-channel retainers on the door opening pinch welds.

13. Install the front safety belt anchors.
- Tighten the bolts to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).


14. Install the A-pillar lower trim panels. For additional information refer to Interior Trim- Exploded View Interior Trim - Exploded View.

15. Install the quarter trim panels. For additional information, refer to Quarter Trim Panel- Convertible Quarter Trim Panel - Convertible or Quarter Trim Panel- Coupe .

16. Install the floor console.

17. Install the rear seat cushion.

18. Install the front seats.
