Removal and Installation

All vehicles

1. Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding Service and Repair.

2. Remove the 9 bolts and the lower splash shield.





3. Remove the 2 A/C condenser-to-radiator nuts.
- To install, make sure the A/C condenser and the power steering tube brackets are installed on the studs.

- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).


4. Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud. For additional information, refer to Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud- 3.7L and 5.0L or Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud- 5.4L (4V) .

5. Remove the 8 pushpins and the radiator air deflector.





Vehicles equipped with a 3.7L, a 5.0L or a Boss(R) 302 engine

6. Release the clamp and disconnect the radiator-to-degas bottle hose from the radiator.

All vehicles

7. Release the clamp and disconnect the upper radiator hose from the radiator.

8. Release the clamp and disconnect the lower radiator hose from the radiator.

9. Remove the 4 bolts and the 2 radiator support brackets.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).


10. Lift the radiator off the lower radiator support and position the radiator, the A/C condenser and if equipped the transmission fluid cooler assembly toward the engine.

11. Remove the 2 A/C condenser-to-radiator bolts and position the A/C condenser aside.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).


12. If equipped, remove the 2 transmission fluid cooler bolts and position the transmission fluid cooler aside.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).


13. Remove the radiator.

14. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

15. Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding Service and Repair.
