ILLUMINATED - DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES
(DTCS) - P0011/Pool 21P0021 AND/OR P0022

ISSUE
Some 2012 Fusion and Escape vehicles equipped with a 3.0L engine may exhibit the MIL illuminated with any combination of the following DTCs P0011, P0012, P0021 and/or P0022. These DTCs may also be accompanied by camshaft position sensor DTCs.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Using scan tool check for DTCs P0011, P0012, P0021, P0022.
2. If DTC P0011 and/or P0012 are present, replace the Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) oil control solenoid on right hand cylinder head (bank 1). Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-14B.
3. If DTC P0021 and/or P0022 are present, replace the VCT oil control solenoid on left hand cylinder head (bank 2). Refer to WSM Section 303-14B.
4. If DTC P0011 and/or P0012 and P0021 and/or P0022 are present replace both VCT oil control solenoids, Refer to WSM, Section 303-14B.
