Diagnostic Overview
A Single Power Window is Inoperative - RH Front
Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 100 for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The RH (Right Hand) front power window motor is bi-directional. Window direction is determined by the polarity of the voltage and ground being supplied to the motor from the window control switch(es).
Pinpoint Test
1. CHECK THE MASTER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH POWER CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect: RH (Right Hand) Front Window Control Switch.
3. Ignition ON.
4. Measure:
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
2. CHECK THE MASTER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH NORMALLY CLOSED GROUND CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Measure:
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms for both measurements?
3. CHECK THE POWER WINDOW CONTROL CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
1. Disconnect: Master Window Control Switch C566A (with manual rear windows) or C504A (with power rear windows).
2. Measure:
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms for both measurements?
4. CHECK THE POWER WINDOW UPWARD AND/OR DOWNWARD OPERATION
1. Ignition ON.
2. To check downward window operation, connect fused jumper wires:
3. To check upward window operation, connect fused jumper wires:
Does the RH (Right Hand) front window move up and/or down?
5. CHECK THE POWER WINDOW CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect: RH (Right Hand) Front Power Window Motor.
3. Measure:
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms for both measurements?
