Diagnostic Routine D

Diagnostic Overview

Both Rear Power Windows are Inoperative

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 100 for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

REFER to Passenger Windows Lock-Out . The rear windows share the same fuse and common ground circuit (provided through the master window control switch).

Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks

- Verify the lock-out switch is in the UNLOCK position.

- Verify that BJB (Battery Junction Box) fuse 14 (25A) is OK.

Pinpoint Test

1. CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE LH (Left Hand) REAR WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: LH (Left Hand) Rear Window Control Switch.

3. Ignition ON.

4. Make sure the rear passenger window lock-out switch is in the UNLOCK position.

5. Measure:





Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?







2. CHECK THE MASTER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: Master Window Control Switch C504B.

3. Measure:





Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?







3. CHECK THE MASTER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH POWER CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: Master Window Control Switch C504B.

3. Ignition ON.

4. Measure:





Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?







4. CHECK THE LH (Left Hand) REAR WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH VOLTAGE CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Measure:





Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
