Halfshaft Seal - LH

Removal

1. Remove the 8 retainers and the underbody insulator.





2. Remove the LH halfshaft. REFER to Halfshaft - LH .

3. Using 307-163 (T86P-70043-A) and 308-001 (T58L-101-B) , remove and discard the halfshaft oil seal.





Installation

1. Using 308-039 , install the new halfshaft oil seal.





2. Install the LH (Left Hand) halfshaft. REFER to Halfshaft - LH .

3. NOTE: The fill height is 0 mm (0 in)-0.5 mm (0.0197 in) below the lower edge of the filler hole.

NOTE: Before removing, clean the area around the fill plug.

Remove the transmission fill plug. Check the transmission fluid level and fill with Motorcraft(R) Full Synthetic Manual Transmission Fluid as necessary.
- Tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).





4. Install the underbody insulator and the 8 retainers.
