Clutch Housing
WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
Special Tool(s)
Disassembly
1. Remove and discard the halfshaft seal.
2. Remove and discard the clutch housing input shaft bearing retainer bolts and remove clutch housing input shaft bearing retainer.
3. By lightly tapping, remove and discard the clutch housing input shaft bearing.
4. Break the lube feed tubes off the clutch housing output shaft bearings and discard.
5. NOTE: If the clutch housing output shaft bearing is broken, use the next size larger special tool.
NOTE: The clutch housing output shaft bearing 1 is shown, the clutch housing output shaft bearing 2 is similar.
Using 303-D022 (D80L-100-T) and 100-001 (T50T-100-A) , remove the 2 clutch housing output shaft bearings.
6. Using 205-153 (T80T-4000-W) and 307-678 , remove the clutch housing differential bearing race and shim.
Assembly
1. NOTE: If new differential bearings, differential, clutch housing or transaxle case are installed REFER to Differential Shim Selection .
Install the clutch housing differential bearing shim.
2. Using 205-118 (T77F-4222-A) , 204-594 and 307-671 , install the clutch housing differential bearing race
3. NOTE: The clutch housing output shaft bearing 1 is shown, the clutch housing output shaft bearing 2 is similar.
Install the new lube feed tubes and position the clutch housing output shaft bearings into the clutch housing.
4. NOTE: The clutch housing output shaft bearing 1 is shown, the clutch housing output shaft bearing 2 is similar.
Using 307-679 , install the 2 clutch housing output shaft bearings.
5. Using 205-425 , 204-594 and 205-118 (T77F-4222-A) , install the new clutch housing input shaft bearing.
6. Install the clutch housing input shaft bearing retainer and the new clutch housing input shaft bearing retainer bolts.
- Tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb-in).
7. Using 307-677 and 205-153 (T80T-4000-W) , install the new halfshaft seal.
