Shock Absorber

Removal
NOTICE: Suspension fasteners are critical parts that affect the performance of vital components and systems. Failure of these fasteners may result in major service expense. Use the same or equivalent parts if replacement is necessary. Do not use a replacement part of lesser quality or substitute design. Tighten fasteners as specified.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to Jacking and Lifting Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the shock absorber lower bolt in the sequence shown.
1. Using a suitable jackstand, support the rearward lower control arm.
2. Remove and discard the shock absorber lower bolt.
- To install, tighten the new shock absorber lower bolt to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).
3. Remove the 2 shock absorber upper bolts and remove the shock absorber.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
Installation
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
