Upper Arm

Removal
NOTICE: Suspension fasteners are critical parts that affect the performance of vital components and systems. Failure of these fasteners may result in major service expense. Use the same or equivalent parts if replacement is necessary. Do not use a replacement part of lesser quality or substitute design. Tighten fasteners as specified.
1. Remove the wheel and tire. REFER to Wheel and Tire .
2. Remove and discard the shock absorber lower bolt.
3. Remove and discard the upper control arm inboard bolt.
4. NOTE: Note the position of the upper control arm to aid installation.
NOTE: Position the shock absorber as necessary to remove the upper control arm.
Remove and discard the upper control arm outboard bolt and remove the upper control arm.
Installation
1. NOTE: Position the shock absorber as necessary to install the upper control arm.
Loosely install the new upper control arm inboard bolt.
2. NOTE: Do not tighten the bolt at this time.
Position the upper control arm and loosely install the new upper arm outboard bolt.
3. NOTE: Do not tighten the bolt at this time.
Loosely install the new shock absorber lower bolt.
4. Install the wheel and tire. REFER to Wheel and Tire .
5. Lower the vehicle until the weight of the vehicle is resting on the wheels and tires.
6. Tighten the upper control arm inboard bolt.
- Tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).
7. Tighten the upper control arm outboard bolt.
- Tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).
8. Tighten the shock absorber lower bolt.
- Tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).
