Ignition Lock Cylinder - Functional

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Removal

1. NOTE: Individual lock cylinders are repaired by discarding the inoperative cylinder and rebuilding a new lock cylinder using the appropriate lock repair package. The lock repair package includes a detailed instruction sheet to build the new lock to match the key cut pattern for the vehicle, thus allowing for single point replacement without needing to replace or reprogram other locks or keys.

2. Remove the ignition lock cylinder.

1. Position the ignition key to the ACC position.

2. Inset a pin punch into the ignition lock cylinder release access hole and depress the ignition lock cylinder release button.

3. Pull outward on the ignition key and remove the ignition lock cylinder.






Installation

1. Make sure the ignition lock cylinder is in the ACC position.

2. NOTE: Make sure to align the locking pin with the locking pin access hole.
Insert the ignition lock cylinder into the ignition lock cylinder access hole located on the steering column.

3. Rotate the ignition key through all lock cylinder positions to check for correct operation.
