Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

Transmission Range (TR) Sensor

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Removal

1. Disconnect the TR (Transmission Range) sensor electrical connector.





2. Remove the 2 TR (Transmission Range) sensor bolts and the TR (Transmission Range) sensor.





Installation

1. Install the TR (Transmission Range) sensor and the 2 TR (Transmission Range) sensor bolts.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).





2. Connect the TR (Transmission Range) sensor electrical connector.





3. Adjust the selector lever cable. REFER to Selector Lever Cable Adjustment .

4. Re-calibrate the TR (Transmission Range) sensor. REFER to Transmission Adaptive Learning .

5. Verify the vehicle starts in PARK and NEUTRAL only.
