Fuel Supply Line: Service and Repair




Fuel Lines

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Removal

1. Remove the battery. REFER to Battery .

2. Disconnect the fuel jumper tube-to-fuel injection pump spring lock coupling. REFER to Spring Lock Couplings . Disconnect the EVAP (Evaporative Emission) vapor tube quick connect coupling. REFER to Quick Connect Coupling - Type 1 . Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor electrical connector, and disconnect the 2 front brake tube fitting-to-middle brake tube fitting.
- To install, tighten to 15 Nm (133 lb-in).





3. Remove the crossmember support crossbrace.

1. Remove the 4 crossmember support bracket-to-body bolts.
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).

2. Remove the 2 crossmember support bracket nuts.
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).






4. Remove the RH (Right Hand) crossmember support bracket.

1. Remove and discard the RH (Right Hand) subframe rearward bolt.

- To install, tighten the new subframe rearward bolt in 2 stages.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 140 Nm (103 lb-ft).
- Stage 2: Tighten an additional 180 degrees.

2. Remove the 2 crossmember support bracket-to-body bolts.
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).






5. Remove the 6 nuts and position aside the exhaust heat shield.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).





6. Disconnect the 2 middle brake tube fitting-to-rear brake tube fitting. Disconnect the fuel supply tube and EVAP (Evaporative Emission) vapor tube quick connect coupling. REFER to Quick Connect Coupling - Type 1 .
- To install, tighten to 15 Nm (133 lb-in).





7. Disconnect the 5 fuel tube bundle retainers and remove fuel tube bundle.





Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

- Bleed the brake system. REFER to Brake System Bleeding .
