PROGRAMMING ISSUES - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT

ISSUE
Some 2012 Focus vehicles equipped with PATS keys built on or before 2/22/2012 may exhibit difficulties when attempting to program extra keys. This concern may or may not be accompanied by the following diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) - B10D7:51 and/or B10D7:81.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Reprogram the body control module (BCM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 77A.04 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2012.1A DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.
2. Follow the key programming using two programmed keys procedure as listed in the owners guide or the Workshop Manual, Section 419-01.
a. It is normal to see a no key detected or key not recognized message displayed in the instrument panel cluster during new key(s) programming.
WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.
