Catalyst Monitor Sensor

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Removal

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to Lifting Points .

2. Disconnect the CMS (Catalyst Monitor Sensor) electrical connector and detach the CMS (Catalyst Monitor Sensor) wire clip from the heater hose.

1. Detach the CMS (Catalyst Monitor Sensor) wire from the retaining bracket.






3. Remove the 8 retainers and the underbody insulator.





4. NOTE: If necessary, lubricate the sensor threads with penetrating and lock lubricant to assist in removal.
Using 303-476 (T94P-9472-A) remove the CMS (Catalyst Monitor Sensor).

Installation

1. NOTE: Apply a light coat of anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the CMS (Catalyst Monitor Sensor).
Install the CMS (Catalyst Monitor Sensor).

1. Calculate the correct torque wrench setting for the following torque. REFER to Torque Wrench Adapter Formulas .

- Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

2. Install the underbody insulator and the 8 retainers.





3. NOTICE: Make sure that the sensor wiring is routed away from hot surfaces and sharp edges or damage to the wiring may occur.

NOTE: Make sure that the electrical connector locking tab is engaged.
Install the CMS (Catalyst Monitor Sensor) wire harness into the retaining bracket and connect the CMS (Catalyst Monitor Sensor) electrical connector.

1. Attach CMS (Catalyst Monitor Sensor) wire clip to the heater hose.
