Component Description

Door Ajar Switch

The door ajar switches (ground switches) each receive a voltage signal from the BCM (Body Control Module) on independent circuits. When the door is closed, the door ajar switch is closed, routing the signal to ground. When the door is opened, the door ajar switch opens.

On vehicles equipped with the one-touch-up/down window function, ground is provided to the door ajar switches from the door modules.

Interior Lamp

All of the interior lamps receive voltage from the interior lamp relay (integrated into the BCM (Body Control Module)) when the battery saver feature is not active. This is used by each interior lamp to power the LED (Light-emitting Diode) within it.

The front/driver interior lamp sends a 5 volt signal to the remaining lamps to active them. The voltage signal is removed to turn the lamps off.

A dedicated ground circuit is provided for map lamp functionality.

There is also a status indication circuit between the driver/front interior lamp and the remaining lamp(s). This has no effect on the lamps operation.
