Diagnostic Overview

The Cruise Control Message Center Indicator Is Never or Always On

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

NOTE: If DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0100:00 sets in the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster), other observable symptoms can be an inoperative speedometer, tachometer or odometer.

REFER to Cruise Control Message Center Indicator .

If the cruise control status message is missing or invalid for 400 milliseconds, the BCM (Body Control Module) and the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) set DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0100:00. If the cruise control status message is missing, the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) defaults the cruise control indicator on until a valid message is received.

Pinpoint Test

1. CHECK THE CRUISE CONTROL OPERATION

1. Operate the cruise control.

Does the cruise control operate correctly?







2. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) SELF-TEST

1. Using a scan tool, perform the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) self-test.

Are any DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) recorded?







3. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE BCM (Body Control Module) SELF-TEST

1. Using a scan tool, perform the BCM (Body Control Module) self-test.

Are any DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) recorded?







4. RETRIEVE AND RECORD THE DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE PCM (Powertrain Control Module) KOEO (Key ON Engine OFF) SELF-TEST

1. Using a scan tool, perform the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) KOEO (Key ON Engine OFF) self-test.

Are any PCM (Powertrain Control Module) DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) recorded?







5. VERIFY THE CRUISE CONTROL IS ENABLED IN THE CAR CONFIGURATION

1. Using a scan tool, view the car configuration parameters through the module programming menu. REFER to Module Configuration and Parameter Chart .

Is the cruise control parameter enabled?
