Diagnostic Overview

The LH-RH Turn Signal, High Beam or Fog Lamp Indicator Is Never or Always On

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

REFER to LH-RH Turn Signal Indicator , REFER to High Beam Indicator or REFER to Fog Lamp Indicator .

If the turn indicator command, headlamp high beam indicator request or fog lamp indicator request message is missing for less than 2 seconds, the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) defaults the turn signals, high beam or fog lamp indicator to its last state (on or off) based upon the last known good message received.

If the turn indicator command, headlamp high beam indicator request or fog lamp indicator request message is missing for 2 seconds or longer, the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) sets DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0140:00 in continuous memory and defaults the turn signals, high beam or fog lamp indicator off.

Pinpoint Test

1. DETERMINE THE FAULT CONDITION

1. Ignition ON.

2. Check the operation of the high beams, turn signal or fog lamps.

Do the high beam, turn signal and fog lamps operate correctly?







2. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) SELF-TEST

1. Using a scan tool, perform the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) self-test.

Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0140:00 recorded?







3. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE BCM (Body Control Module) SELF-TEST

1. Using a scan tool, perform the BCM (Body Control Module) self-test.

Are any DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) recorded?







4. CHECK THE HIGH BEAM, TURN OR FOG LAMP INDICATORS USING THE DEALER TEST MODE

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Enter the Dealer Test Mode. REFER to Dealer Test Mode .

3. Scroll to LED test.

4. Monitor the high beam, turn or fog lamp indicator.

Does the high beam, turn or fog lamp indicator illuminate?
