Diagnostic Overview
The Stability-Traction Control Indicator (Sliding Car Icon) Is Never or Always On
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
REFER to Stability-Traction Control Indicator (Sliding Car Icon) .
If the stability-traction control indication message is missing or invalid for less than the programmed length of time, the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) defaults the stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon) to the last indication mode (on/off) based upon the last known good message.
If the BCM (Body Control Module) does not receive the stability-traction control indication message from the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module for the programmed length of time or longer, the BCM (Body Control Module) and the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) set DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0121:00. If the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) does not receive the stability-traction control indication message, the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) defaults the stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon) on.
