Diagnostic Overview

The Perimeter Alarm Chime Is Inoperative

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

REFER to Perimeter Alarm Warning Chime .

Pinpoint Test

1. CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Ignition ON.

3. Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition switch is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.

Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?







2. CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE PERIMETER ALARM

1. NOTE: For additional information on the perimeter alarm chime function, REFER to Anti-Theft - Perimeter (without IA (Intelligent Access)) or REFER to Anti-Theft - Perimeter (with IA (Intelligent Access)).
Arm the perimeter alarm using the remote key locking function (key FOB).

2. Wait approximately 15 seconds for the system to arm.

3. Open the driver door using the interior door handle.

Does the perimeter alarm sound after 12 seconds?







3. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) SELF-TEST

1. Using a scan tool, perform the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) self-test.

Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0140:00 recorded?







4. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE BCM (Body Control Module) SELF-TEST

1. Using a scan tool, perform the BCM (Body Control Module) self-test.

Are any DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) recorded?
