Diagnostic Overview

The Window Switch Illumination Is Inoperative - with Door Modules (with Window One-touch Up)

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 71 for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

REFER to Dimmable Backlighting .

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions






Pinpoint Test

1. VERIFY WINDOW FUNCTIONALITY

1. Ignition ON.

2. For the suspect window control switch, verify the window functions in the up and down switch position.

Does the window function correctly?







2. CHECK THE RF (Right Front) WINDOW SWITCH

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: RF (Right Front) Window Control Switch.

3. Ignition ON.

4. Measure:





Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?







3. CHECK THE ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: PDM (Passenger Door Module) C652B.

3. Measure:





Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?







4. CHECK THE LR (Left Rear) WINDOW SWITCH

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: LR (Left Rear) Window Control Switch.

3. Ignition ON.

4. Measure:





Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?







5. CHECK THE ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: DRDM (Driver Rear Door Module).

3. Measure:





Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?







6. CHECK THE RR (Right Rear) WINDOW SWITCH

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: RR (Right Rear) Window Control Switch.

3. Ignition ON.

4. Measure:





Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?







7. CHECK THE ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: PRDM (Passenger Rear Door Module).

3. Measure:





Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?







8. CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM (Body Control Module) OPERATION

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect and inspect all the BCM (Body Control Module) connectors.

3. Repair:

- corrosion (install new connector or terminals- clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins- install new pins as necessary

4. Reconnect the BCM (Body Control Module) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.

5. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

Is the concern still present?
