DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
Pinpoint Test
1. CHECK THE EXTERIOR LIGHTING
1. Ignition ON.
2. Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position.
3. Observe the parking lights.
Are the parking lights illuminated?
2. CHECK FOR BCM (Body Control Module) DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U2010:15
1. Review the retrieved DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
Is BCM (Body Control Module) DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U2010:15 present?
3. CHECK THE BCM (Body Control Module) INSTRUMENT PANEL SWITCH ILLUMINATION OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect: BCM (Body Control Module) C2280C.
3. Disconnect: BCM (Body Control Module) C2280H.
4. Using a suitable tool, release and temporarily remove BCM (Body Control Module) C2280C pin 14.
5. Using a suitable tool, release and temporarily remove BCM (Body Control Module) C2280H pin 20.
6. Connect: BCM (Body Control Module) C2280C.
7. Connect: BCM (Body Control Module) C2280H.
8. Ignition ON.
Do any dimmable backlighted components continue to illuminate?
4. CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM (Body Control Module) OPERATION
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect and inspect all the BCM (Body Control Module) connectors.
3. Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals- clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins- install new pins as necessary
4. Reconnect the BCM (Body Control Module) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
5. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
