DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
Pinpoint Test
1. VERIFY ALL ILLUMINATION IS INOPERATIVE
1. Ignition ON.
2. Place the headlamp switch in the PARKING LAMPS ON position.
3. Press the instrument panel dimmer switch up and down.
Is the illumination for all hardwired switches and components inoperative?
2. CHECK FOR ILLUMINATION FUNCTION WITH CIRCUIT JUMPERED
1. Place the headlamp switch in the PARKING LAMPS OFF position.
2. Ignition OFF.
3. Disconnect: BCM (Body Control Module) C2280C.
4. Disconnect: BCM (Body Control Module) C2280H.
5. Connect a fused jumper wire:
6. Connect a fused jumper wire:
Do the hardwired switches and components illuminate?
3. CHECK VEHICLE DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) HISTORY
1. Using a scan tool, review the retrieved DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
Is BCM (Body Control Module) DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U1000:00 or U2010:11 currently set or has DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U1000:00 set in the past?
4. CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM (Body Control Module) OPERATION
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect and inspect all the BCM (Body Control Module) connectors.
3. Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals- clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins- install new pins as necessary
4. Reconnect the BCM (Body Control Module) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
5. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
