ISSUE
Some 2012 Focus vehicles equipped with a 2.0L gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine and built on 2/4/2011 and through 5/6/2011 may experience
malfunction indicator light (MIL) illuminated with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0010, P0012, P0013, P0014, P052A or P054B may be caused by
variable camshaft timing (VCT) oil control solenoids.

ACTION

Follow Service Procedure to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Using IDS check for DTCs P0010, P0012, P0013, P0014, P052A or P054B. Are one or more of these DTCs present?

a. Yes - proceed to Step 2.

b. No - do not continue with this article. Refer to the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual for normal diagnostics.

2. Replace both VCT oil control solenoids, Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 303-14.
