ISSUE
Some 2012 Focus 2.0L gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines may exhibit an oil leak at the rear upper exhaust manifold stud area.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Remove the number four (4) exhaust manifold nut and stud and discard.
2. Use Motorcraft(R) Metal Brake Parts Cleaner and clean the stud hole in the cylinder head.
3. Apply Loctite(R) 592TM) PST(R) Thread Sealant liberally to the stud threads.
4. Install the stud into cylinder head and tighten to 15 N.m-19 N.m (11-14 lb-ft).
5. Install nut and tighten to 55 N.m (41 lb-ft).
