Seat Cushion Heater Mat

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Removal

1. NOTICE: Do not install a new heater mat on a front passenger seat cushion. If a new cushion heater mat is needed on the front passenger seat, an OCS (Occupant Classification System) service kit equipped with a heater mat must be installed. Failure to follow this instruction may result in incorrect operation of the OCS (Occupant Classification System).

NOTICE: Do not reinstall any heater mat after removal. The adhesive will not adhere correctly to the foam pad, causing it to bunch up or shift out of place. A new heater mat must be installed. Failure to follow these instructions can result in heated seat component damage and system failure.

Passenger seat: Install a new OCS (Occupant Classification System) service kit. REFER to Occupant Classification System (OCS) Sensor .Driver seat: Proceed to Step 2.

2. Remove the seat cushion cover. REFER to Seat Cushion Cover .

3. NOTE: It is acceptable for a thin layer of foam to peel away with the old heater mat. The new heater mat will adhere to the foam pad, but if foam tearing occurs or if any pieces of foam are removed, install a new foam pad.
General Equipment: Side Cutter Pliers





Installation

1. NOTE: Install the heater mat straight onto the foam pad, without any wrinkles that may show through the cover after installation.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
